I'm extremely forgetful. So, to help, I've generated a TODO list and added to the Blog.
If you have requested a change/addition/correction and I have not yet implemented, and you do not see it on my TODO list, leave me a note and I will add it. At least this will be a flag for me to get to it eventually.
The KDELIBS_SUSE code in kickoff reads this way:

Otherwise, send the DCOP message again (same message as above). If the ksmserver does not reply, open a confirmation dialog box for logging out (instead of the usual shutdown,restart, end session box). If the user selects yes, shutdown. Otherwise, proceed normally.
The ifdef is a bit misleading. ksmserver resides solely in kdebase. IIRC, the kickoff svn branch was only a modified kdebase.
